You can actually sing karaoke from the chair in front of your computer. Of course, if I do this, you had better not miss any shows!
There are many different applications that you can use. I have recently found one that is awesome; and its free, and I'm gonna tell you where to get it.
vanBasco's Karaoke Player is a standard MIDI file player with full screen Karaoke display for IBM PCs or compatibles running Microsoft Windows 95/98/ME/NT 4/2000 or XP.
Once you install the program, right click on the player and you can make sure that the lyrics are turned on. I keep the piano and other things turned off on my version.

Click on "Download this free product now" , then follow the download instructions, its easy.
Once you have it installed (its only 780K), run the player and make sure the karaoke button on the bottom of the player is turned on. Then you can see the lyrics. Click on the links below, sit back and sing your heart out. Yes it is midi, but there are scrolling lyrics, and the lead instrument will help you learn the new songs. Hope you have fun.
